Development of Bacteria Products for Controlling Odours , Fat & Grease and Unwanted Organic Products
Over the past 6 years we have been applying specific bacteria formulations to oil wells as a means of reducing their wax deposition and corrosion problems caused by H2S gas and anaerobic bacteria i.e. SRB's -(Sulphate reducing bacteria). Throughout this period we have continually shown that our bacteria products have reduced the presence of H2S gas and SRB's to the extent we have been able to extend the life of a well from Corrosion and blockages due to wax deposition.
Moving on from there, approximately 4 years ago we formulated a bacterial product designed to control fats/ grease build ups in all sorts of industrial applications, i.e. Restaurants, Hotels, Kitchens, Chicken Farms, Fish Farms, Cooked Meat Companies and Bakeries. The product is added daily to either grease traps or effluent plants as a means of dramatically reducing the occurrence of blocked grease traps or pumps, or specific parts of an effluent plant.
We are also working with British Steel Chemicals Company, i.e. Bitmac. Here we are using our bacterial products and nutrients to digest their effluent stream contaminants down to consent limits. Previous to our involvement the plant could not be made to work and as expected was not meeting consent limits for discharge. We are currently taking 4-14000 ppm of Phenols & Thiocynates and 1-5 ppm cyanide, in a flow of 250 tonnes a day and treating this mixture with our bacteria products and meeting all consent levels which is basically less than 2 ppm of phenol in the waste discharged to the River Tees.
In addition, we are working with several Water Companies using our bacterial products as a means of controlling odour emissions. The initial work concentrated on treating specific parts of the plant that appear to be producing most of the odours emanating from the whole of the plant, these areas being:-
Clearwater Recommendations for your application:
Following on from our site survey, we would normally propose a treatment regime which provides a continuous supply of our bacterial product . By using our new and innovative
Bio-Katz Blocks In your waste water stream you will receive the full benefits of the programme.Once these
Bio-Katz Blocks have been fully commissioned, this will then ensure a good inoculation has taken place in the whole of the effluent stream.
As technically mentioned the bacterial product will alter sufficiently the metabolism of the effluent water to the extent that Fat/Grease particles will be broken down or degraded,
The Clearwatere Bio-Katz Blocks are not producing a chemical product, so there is no stoichiometric rationality about how much bacteria should be added, provided the correct balance of organisms within the effluent water is achieved.
Therefore, the bacterial product will be released from the Bio-Katz Blocks at differing rates in accordance with the actual waste water flow rate.
The Bio-Katz Blocks will produce a constant steam of specialised Bacteria Culture, designed for this application. The population count will be greater than 1 x 108 Cfu's. which is a high inoculation rate for any bacterial treatment process. Therefore should conditions change due to either hot weather, a higher throughput volume or a stream more prone to anaerobic odours is discharged, then the Bio-Katz Blocks feed rate will alter correspondingly as a means of accommodating any extra odours emissions or discharges of Fat or Grease..
